After a little talk with Eiko, we think it would be important to separate this two different kinds of messages.

So I remembered that  Baldurs Gate (screenie) had a msg-box on the bottom.

This msg-box has some (for this old game really nice) functions.

  • scroll-support (on the right side with this knob on this large two-side-arrow
  • increase and decrease the size of the msg-box (with this hardly to see arrow-squares righthand of the large arrow.

⇒ This could be important to implement #563 and #182.

And while this is an not original idea… milestone 0.3.x…

mouse cursor updates are often missing. The cursor is only updated, when the mouse is moved. It should be updated immediately.

Also i often saw a wrong cursor in the menus( e.g. move or select cursor).

Playing r2884. In the late game a server reconnect is tricky.

Steps to reproduce:

First the server refuses Reconnect because he didn't notice the missing client yet.

After a while I can reconnect and log says "Connected". Nothing else happens from this point. Hitting exit disconnects again.

After another while I can try this again until the server finally lets me rejoin the game.

Wenn man die Bildschirmauflösung im Spiel ändert und das Spiel nicht neu startet, dann erscheint bei jeder Bauanweisung mit Konstrukteur/Pionierfahrzeug? eine schwarze Fläche, die der ursprünglichen Bildschirmauflösung entspricht. Nicht nur mit Konstrukteur oder Pionierfahrzeug durchführbar, sondern allgemein wenn man auch auf Gebäude und dann auf Info klickt.

Fehler folgendermaßen nachproduzierbar:

1. starte maxr, ändere unter Einstellung die Auflösung auf 800:600 und beende maxr 2. starte maxr, starte eine neues Spiel multi/singleplayer, ändere unter Präferenzen die Bildschirmauflösung des Spiels auf 1440:900 3. Klicke auf Konstrukteur und dann auf bauen

i have two monitors and it seemed to be that maxr can't get all possible resolutions.
my first monitor has 27" (with a native resolution of 2560 x 1440) and the second 24"

With r3451 i had got some error messages while starting in the maxr.log ((WW): Oops, looks like we read less resolutions than I should offer. This might result in some glitches in my dialog. I want a drop down box here! ) but the game still shows in the preferences all modes.

now with r3492 i can't get more than some basic resoultions (up to 1280x1024 but its possible to change the max.xml by hand (with an editor) and use the higher resolution like 2560x1440)

if i use my pc at work or one of my 2 laptops, maxr have not problem to get all possible resolution

i will try to test it with only one monitor at home. perhaps the 27" is the problem and not the multimonitors

If you have the rotating unit image, it still rotate after deselecting the unit.

Without rotating, there is the black-box.

Furthermore,

  • if you disable rotation

  • ↦ click the play button ()

⇒ the image of the last selected unit start to rotate in the box.

Additionally I know there was a change since 0.2.8. release and the release version hadn't got this bug… but I can't find the ticket atm…

In the original MAX, you could zoom in and out by clicking the "+" and "-" buttons at both sides of the zoom slider. It was a very handy functionality, each "+" and "-" click would "jump" to the next/previous zoom level (the zoom levels are indicated by the seven small triangular markers under the zoom slider). I used this feature a lot. It doesn't seem to be implemented at present.

In the original MAX, when building a unit, you could hit "ENTER" for "Done", and "ESC" to cancel. You could also use the up/down arrows for selecting the unit above/below the current selected one (sliding as needed), which was quite practical. This functionality is missing in current MAXR version.

Beim Original musste der menschliche Gegner auf Draht sein und das manuell anzielen!

Es ist so, woie es jetzt ist, ein anderes Spiel.
